Default What a Clowntastic weekend!!!

Well, we didn't get to clown at the Special Olympics Friday because of the weather. We actually thought it was cancelled because it was raining Friday morning. We were told if it was raining they probably wouldn't have it. So we didn't even go help. We didn't find out until Saturday morning that it went on anyway. That was a downer.

But the school carnival on Saturday was so fun! We got there & got set up pretty quickly. There were only 3 clowns - me, Twinkles & my cousin Freckles. My husband didn't clown because he can't do his own face yet & the guy that does it couldn't come because he had hurt his back. So he just went as Jonathan. But he's re-learning to juggle so he did that on & off through the afternoon to entertain the line... Which, by the way, was non stop!! As soon as we started twisting we got a line & the only break we got was about 15 minutes when we stopped to watch the 5th grade dance team. We twisted over 2-1/2 hours! Ended up making $155 in tips, which we were going to split w/ the school since the event was a school fund raiser. Well as we were packing up the 3 ladies over it came up to us & said they wanted to make a donation to our ministry for the time & investment we put in to come help out! We ended up w/ $205! How is that for an unexpected blessing? The only disappointment is that we never really got to talk to anyone about Jesus because we were so busy the whole time! But our name & where we are from was in the list of sponsors AND a guy from the little local weekly paper was there taking pictures & got all our names & where we're from. So that's cool. I did remember my camera but we were too busy for me to get any pictures. One of the guys from the ministry came for a bit at the beginning so I had him get a few pictures & my husband took a few. I make no guarentees how they turned out so we'll just have to see when we get them developed if they get posted or not.

Overall, Saturday was a huge success! A very exciting debut for Freckles. We all had a BLAST twisting... Actually, about 8 or 10 of them through out the afternoon. But seriously, we really did have a great time. We were the most popular table at the carnival! Before we could get out the door they were asking us back for next year! It was great. It went really smooth for our first organized line work. But I'm already thinking of ways to make the next event even better!

Congrats on your successful weekend. Sometimes actions speak louder than words. I am sure you gave them a good example of Christ even if you didn't talk about him.
