If you name the girl "Deborah" I'm going to die of laughter.

My wife and I would have had children, except that my mother put a curse on me. When I was 13 my mother said one day that she "hoped that one day I had a child that acted just like you do". When my wife contemplated the thought of having two of me to deal with every day, she decided against having children. I get no respect.

Red face

I'm in a similar boat. The difference is that I don't have much of a choice, unless I'm willing to work the swing shift and then have to be up during the day with the munchkins. With chronic fatigue (fibromyalgia) part of the mix, that just isn't feasible.

I have a little girl who's almost six and a little 7.5-month-old little "dude-ling." My daughter is autistic (right in the middle of the "spectrum"), so childcare would be significantly more expensive for days she's not in school. Although I have a college education, I don't have any career that I can enter that would pay for the childcare. Plus, I just don't trust anyone to take good enough care of my kids. ;-)

My advice, if it helps, is roll with what life dishes out for you. Be an optimist with a dash of realism. Oh, and Zoloft is great, too. ;-)

Hang in there. If you weren't two states away, I'd love to share in kid-swap! Hope the new lil' bit is doing well. Take care!

Christina
