The retro style is totally intentional. I like it LOL, I know, you're cringing Infotainer. I care about everyone's opinion, but I also first and foremost stick with what I first think and like...

I am still here! You talk about "him" as though I'm not around
Nothing wrong with retro ... even if nostalgia isn't what it used to be! I was going on to comment about how you have done it means that Search Engines cannot even see it ... and to offer a solution ... but you don't mind.
I don't think there is necessarily any problem with the length of your copy. If people are interested, captivated and you have built rapport etc then they will read as much as you can give them.
BTW, for others reading, content and changing content is a very good idea for your site as it helps in many ways.
But I would say about the content I saw that it is not in the right place or sequence IF it was doing more than providing some personal and other background information. Achieving good responses from 'sales copy' requires more careful crafting.
Anyway ... good luck
John

Infotainer,
You have an expertise which is invaluable and worth sharing. Though, when dealing with individual website design one must obviously be considerate of where the person is and what they are, personally, trying to achieve. This may not always jive completely with the kind of business advice you understandably recommend.
May I suggest, then, that you kindly start another thread on the topic of website design where the matter can be discussed more objectively and apart from any personality issues or individual endeavors to which people may have personal feelings attached. I think such a thing would be quite helpful and appreciated by a number of people who read the forum.

Thanks for that. You are absolutely right ... which is precisely why the very first post I made on this said:
>> Hi Markie
It's great you have your site up and running ... I hope it's beginning to work for you.
How many 'hits' (visits per day) are you getting and what percentage are you converting into gigs?
Because that's what a site is for, isn't it?
I've only just joined here and don't want to be over critical before people know what I am about ... but IF you are trying to get business from your site, there are a number of things you should change.
Let me know and we can discuss it here. That may prove useful to others. If not, I'll happily give constructive comments on anyone's site ... along with solutions!<<
And I was told that this WAS so and to fire away.
Apparently that was wrong. No problem.
Of course people's objectives are of primary consideration so too are the tools they choose to achieve them. Unless you have a destination, every road leads there.
I am happy to share any information I have on marketing on and offline, sales, positioning, getting a full datebook, raising fees, earning multiple streams of income, image and branding, goals getting, peak performance, creativity..... all the stuff I coach on.
Ask me a question and we'll have a thread.
John

Note that that message was tim, not me. I responded welcoming any feedback and I do. My only worry was offending you for not taking it, at this time Sometimes when people have feedback as strongly worded as yours was, they expect it to be taken.
Blessings,
Mark

Mark ... I'm cool over everything.
I DO make strong points as it's usually necessary to give a wake-up call about changes to be made. It turned out to not be so in your case ... but people wonder why their site isn't getting visitors, or why they come and leave without booking or how they keep getting asked to work cheaper or ... well everything, and ONE look at their website and it's obvious when you've studied and practice it for as long as I have. The problem is that the suggestions can often seem very simple and obvious as though it would not have any desired effect. But the truth is that subtle changes can make a massive difference.
Kind regards
John

I think being a christian is awesome. And I would not remove anything off my site to satisfy other religions or people. If someone doesn't want to hire me as a clown because I'm a Christian then that is too bad for them, I do not want their business anyway!

I think it is a matter of approach. Sometimes people are (rightly) proud of something about who they are (be it belief or nationality or whatever.) And so they wear it out on their sleeve. But that can be taken the wrong way by others as intimidating or merely off putting. No one ought to have to compromise who they are or what they are about. But hopefully it is offered in an attractive way as just a natural part of their being. As such, an invitation is naturally extended to which someone can respond or leave alone. As a Christian, I find that there is no necessary reason to make people feel in any sense pushed away or more distant from Christ. It is my personal hope that they can, simply, find me approachable and a path to closer communion.
The saying goes, "There is a time and place for everything." (Turn, turn, turn.) Sometimes we need to use wise discernment as to what the best time and place is for a best approach in a certain context.

Hey Razzle Dazzle .....
I couldn't agree more. When people book or buy online they have certain 'fears' and doubts we need to eliminate in their minds. We tend to buy more readily from people we know, like and trust. And that's why the quickest way to connect with visitors is to create Rapport with them. Having done that .... we can build our credibility, demonstrate our expertise and show we can 'solve their problems'.
I also work from a spiritual base and authenticity drives my business. Expressing who we are and demonstrating our deep seated values and beliefs is an integral part of this ... when it's done in the right way.
John

I'd always recommend against having unrelated services together. At best a few cutomers may migrate but at worst it can take away from your original business (because you cease to appear full time, an expert etc). Perhaps if a product included a TShirt image with your logo on, then a link from it to a new site form it would be reasonably appropriate, but it wouldn't truly drive much business.
I would recommend a separate site (or even a Blog may be easier and better) and then you could always make an email Broadcast to your existing customer list ... just as you might recommend anything.
The advantages would be that your clowning Blog would then be focussed and also both sites could (if you wished) benefit from a reciprocal link.
