Default Happy International Children's Day!

Happy International Children's Day

As a host for two foreign exchange students, every day is International Children's Day. We had their group farewell party today as some will be leaving next weekend (including one of mine).

But seriously, who comes up with all of these holidays? It seems like there is a holiday for every day of the year.

There are websites devoted to all the holidays. Just type in a day of the year and It will list a number of holidays.

Most are pilfered from Holidays For Everyday: An excuse to celebrate everyday!. The holidays listed on that site come from a variety of sources, most notably the Library of Congress and the National Special Events Registry. Some (like Gorilla Suit Day and Talk Like a Pirate Day) were conceived and promoted by individuals and aren't recognized by any authority, but I included them here because they're fun. Just my idea of what a nation of clowns might celebrate
