a magic trick is a good thing to add to your routine. you can even find ways to make it funny!!
i dont want to offend any clowns here, but i'm mostly a magician, but i'm highly amused/fasinated by clowning

I agree that everyone should have a few magic tricks up their sleeve. I have learned a few over the years, but don't think I have anything that I would say I was ready to perform in a show. Knowing the secret behind a trick and having the trick and story worked out are a different thing.
Once I figure out balloons and juggling, I will move into magic. I have learned that I need to set specific goals and limit my focus or I will not make progress towards any of them.
What is your specialty? cards, rope, coins?

The best magic trick I learned was to make my wifes voice vanish.

why yes i do. i can either e-mail them to you OR there is a book called "the mark wilson course in magic" it used to be like an Encyclopedia with different volumes, but they put it all into one book. hundreds of magic tricks with cards, silks, and alot of haomeade magic including several production blue prints. so please private message me or post here with what i can to do help.

Well, for my birthday, my mentor gave me a svengali deck and a force deck. I was wondering if you knew of any sites with good tricks that use the Svengali deck (better if they don't have videos, as my computer at work can't play them).

I don't work much with cards, so i'll see what i can do.
well, with a svengali deck, i take a different deck and force the main card thats in the svengali. then i show the svengali with a whole assortment of cards, in other words, there all different. then i show the seceret. there all the same card. not only that, but there ALL the same card the spectator chose.
Also, with the "blank deck" as i call it, i do a story. i say that i went to wal-greens to
buy a deck of cards for the show, but i only had .25 cents. so i went to the bargin bin to see if they had anything and there was a deck labeled "thinking cards" (hint:i just just put a blank sticker on the box that says thinking cards) so when i went to pay for them, i wanted to make sure all the cards were there so i opened the box. and all the cards were blank. the guy at the regester said that you have to think of the card you want, so i thought of a face card....
ect. ect. ect. then you show them its a face card, but no back. then you keep going with the story and theres a back but no face. then the guy says "no, you have to think of the whole deck, front AND back." so then you show them the whole deck. if you know how it works, thats a good way of doing it.
as far as the force deck/marked cards go, just have them pick any card and tell them what it is. or make up a story like i did for the blank cards. thats what magicians do, they take a common trick and modify it to there own personality. you could do somthing like...
start off saying that you used to work in a casino and you can tell any value of any card just by looking at it and just say random #'s while taking cards off the top of the deck and then tell them to choose any card, and they do, and tell them what it is by looking on the back.(but don't make it too obvious that your looking at the back, because then they'll know because they also sell those exact kind of cards at the dollar store, but with alot of practice, it can be the best trick in your routine!( i don't know if marked cards are the same as force cards or not because i've never heard of force cards. if there not the same thing, please explain. if they are the same thing, the proper name is a "marked" deck)
hope that helped. if you want more of an explanation, please get back to me either by private messaging me or just post back here.
P.S. i also talked about the blank deck. now i know you didn't ask about them, but i thought i'd post them anyway.
P.P.S. as far as websites, i'll get back to you on that.
