More creepy clown. This time from soap opera. Dirty neck, too.

Eeeeew, Tim, that's really horrible. And a green-haired clown, too. Glad I didn't watch this before going to bed. I think you need to give up some of your soaps.

I do not like either the Wal-Mart or USPS cxommercial because both subtly puts clowns in a negative/bad light. Clown screams at kids, kids scream and leave the room quickly of Wal-Mart. USPS indicates anything related to clowns like a doll can come alive. The commercial indicates the clown doll is alive and unatural paranormal occurrence or in other words possessed. The family is afraid of the clown doll because outside of their home. The USPS commercial is similar to the conotations protrayed in the movier Poltergeist with an animated clown doll comes alive.

I too have say that I don't like the commercials that put clowns in a negative light. There is a definate trend going on in the world of media that features clowns as being creepy and downright scary. True, I can't say for sure that this has cost any one business, but it has created the idea that it is "popular" to be afraid of clowns. I work with small children all the time even when I'm not in clown (I work in a preschool) and I can tell you first hand that when a child first gets a negative impression of something, it sticks with them. I can also tell you that (as if it needs saying) children are watching more and more television nowadays and they are seeing these commercials and the movies that put clowns in a negative light, even if it's subtle, and they pick up on it.

Given this fact, I can tell you that any decent parent will not hire a clown if they know their kid is afraid of clowns. And I think all this bad publicity is the reason that the number of children, and people in general, who are afraid of clowns or supposedly "hate" clowns is unquestionably on the rise.

Actually, I love them both--they're hilarious, and the Wal-Mart one had my husband laughing SO hard he cried---I love it! Not many things make my husband laugh. It's well worth the view.

Here is what bother me about all of this. When you ask someone why they are afaid of a clown most of them can not give you an ansewer. It seems to me that yes we have commercial and movies and rockbands (Insane clown Possy) that give us a bad name , it has became cool to fear clowns. We have left off us making fun of ourselfs and now everyone else is making fun of us as well. An now people are not just afaid of us they are starting to hate us.
