Well that wasn't so bad. I haven't seen that one. At least he wasn't scary, just clumsy...

I don't think it is as clever or near as funny as the UPS one though.

usps acutally, i didnt like that one either... mostly its just reenforcing negitive stigmas. clown, then scream.... same as the walmart commercial...
so the public sees the clown then hears a scream... you should see a clown and laugh... not scream.
i do see some humor in the walmart commercial... only because they would really suck HAHA. i like the makeup table at the beginning and the fact that its the little girls dad (as he said in the beginning) ... the way she looks at him at the end is pricless hahaha
anywho this is the USPS one Sara is talking about

I wish there could be ONE commercial that portrayed clowns in a postitive light. I hate both of these commercials. Those of you who are my Facebook friends know that I've been ranting about this stupid Wal-Mart commercial ever since they aired it about 100 times during the football game on Sunday. The ONLY good thing about it is that it reinforces why you should hire a professional.

Maybe in the minority but I don't mind either of them. Some humor in the USPS one even. I think people often take themselves too seriously and get up-in-arms about trivial stuff. I mean, can anyone really say that a bad clown commercial/show has cost them work?
I bet someone will come out touting Pennywise from King's story, but I doubt even he, as nefarious as he may be, cost many professional clowns work. I grew up a child of the eighties, when cheesy horror films thrived and we saw all sorts of killer Santas, Clowns, whatever and none of them put a bad taste for any of them in my mouth. Most of the time, it is the real life versions that breed horror or ill will (look here and here for examples that exclude the well knowns: Gacy, etc)

So, I got to thinking about the Wal-Mart commercial:
Isn't the message it sends a bit counterproductive? "Wal-Mart sells cheap crap."

Even though I hate the comerical and I don't think the clown comerical portrays it ... Walmarts new saying is "Save more, Live Better" ... but what do I know. I just work for the evil empire.
