Hey Luki, I like the new (newer?) look. Very sharp. I especially like the hat. It kind of reminds me of a gambler style cowboy hat. The kind like Maverik always wore. Very cool.

I'll cut and paste the info.

Dan, I can't even pronounce half of those words....my goodness. That's kind of terrifying, actually!

And now the search will begin for organic, natural makeup. And if I can't find it, I'll make some!

Now, now Ibimus, don't be afraid of items containing chemicals just because they aren't organic. The push for "organic" foods is often laughable to those of us with science backgrounds (biology and physics for me.) Just pick a reputable company and enjoy your clown make-up!

The human body itself is a conglomeration of chemicals mixed is very specific ways. I agree with organic with many foods to get away from poisons and excess hormones added to them. Just wish I could afford them.

I agree with Jeff. Ben Nye and Mehron are both very respectable companies and work very hard to make sure their makeup is hypoallergenic and safe for extended periods of time. For a start you could look up the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) for each of the chemicals. Actual this would be kind of fun. To make your own you would need to buy make-up grade Titianium Dioxide from a chemical supply house and then blend it with a semi-solid base. One problem would be that you would not be able to keep it on hand for very long. That means you most likely would be mixing up a new batch before every performance. It would take a number of samples to know the proper combination of ingredients for good coverage and lasting power. It is doable but not cheap and not easy, and very time and space consuming.

I used to eat only all natural foods then I heard people die of natural causes too.

I try to eat only foods that aren't organic. That way some reaction between the chemicals in the food will turn me into a super hero.

I'll have to remember that one!

On a hiking trip, I saw a guy pouring out his bottled water and filling it up with creek water. When asked why he would do this, he said he wanted "fresh clean natural water, not something processed in some plant." When I pointed out the dead fish in the water and the possibility of other contaminants, he had a "deer in the headlights" look. Some people have blinders on when it comes to things like this. Another example of blindly jumping on a bandwagon is the time I walked by a PETA booth at college and was heckled for my leather back-pack. I kindly pointed out the leather shoes the PETA member was wearing, smiled, and kept walking.

I do agree that farm-fresh items are great to buy, but I won't go broke buying everything with "organic" on the label.

Sorry for hijacking the thread.....

PETA's #2 person uses Insulin and PETA's "shelter" has one of the highest kill rate in the US for adoptable pets. Also they have a record for funding FBI's top home grown terrorist organizations such as the Earth Liberation Front and Animal Liberation Front.
