More than just Penn and Teller. When I was rescued from the media hype about American Pit Bull Terriers by one showing up on my doorstep I started doing a lot of research on the breed. This brought up the issue of Breed Specific Legislation, which led to PETA's bigotry. Their real goal is to murder all domestic animals to save them from human domination.

Default Picture

I have posted a new picture....just my face. Today, I did several things different than usual.....I made sure I had removed the "auguste" make-up from the areas I was putting other colors; I used a different shade of "red"; I used new "auguste" powder I got from BUBBA'S; after I powdered and let it set, I used a damp paper towel. The colors were definitely brighter than last time. Thanks for all your advise.

Yes, basically. Right now, I would say that it is "out of balance". That is to say that the big mouth (no pun intended) doesn't seem to fit with the smaller features of the other parts of the face. Basically, what you have is the kind of mouth design which would typically fit for a comic (sometimes called grotesque) whiteface. In such a clown face, ALL of the features are typically enlarged to an extreme (thus the use of the word grotesque, which doesn't mean as in "eww, ugly" but just taken to an extreme). I think that weaning in the design of the mouth some would make your clown face read better, more cleanly, without undue attention being drawn just to the mouth.

Also, in a closer look, I notice that you use hearts on your cheeks. Now, I don't have anything against that, inherently. In fact, I think it can work well for some clowns. But others would suggest that it may be better to just rosy up the cheeks or find a way to create extended lines which will move with your facial expression and better accent your whole smile. So, it's something to consider and maybe try to see what works best for you.

You might want to get your hands on a copy of Strutter's Guide to Clown Makeup, which outlines these concepts and provides a lot of practice patters for facial features. I know it helped me and others understand some principles better.

Also with the heart, you might want to move them more to the front of you cheeks, on your actual cheeks bones not on the soft part.

Someone somewere, I don't really remember who, once told me to never ever use yellow around your eyes. I don't really know why but I have always beleived that yellow and eye makeup are bad. I think that your makeup would look really good if you did just white around your eyes and mouth and then added a red outline\blush around the mouth and black eyebrows.

I think you are making progress and as your face changes it heads towards a better clown face overall.

Default Heart cheeks & yellow

By moving the hearts --- do you mean closer to the nose? Actually, in making the mouth smaller it will be easier to move the hearts closer in. The yellow around the eyes...isn't just yellow. Since I'm Mindy, the Rainbow Clown....I do a full rainbow as the eyeshadow. There is just a thin row of yellow (though in this picture it looks like maybe I made a larger row of yellow than ususal). It starts with lavender right at the eyelid and moves up to red just below the eyebrow.
