Thanks Fitz! I'm heading to the costume shop tomorrow so I'll see about their pancake make up. I really need to pick up Strutter's Complete Guide to Clown Makeup too. I'm interested in finding out what sort of look will be right for my face. Make up is one aspect of clowning I haven't really looked much into yet!

I checked out all those clowns you suggested too Don Quixote. That style is much more what I was looking to accomplish. The NY Goofs look like a great group. I'd love to see one of their shows.

Mark Renfro from MooseCamp also works with the NY Goofs. He is a great history buff. Hey, email Bruce "Charlie" Johnson (I can't remember his website right now, he advertises in the Calliope so I will look.) He has three really good books I am planning on getting that delve into creativity for entertainers. and Pat Cashin from clownalley.net

Personally, I powder, brush, spritz, and pat dry. At the end of a very long day (competition starting at 8 A.M., lunch, convention workshops, smoozing, and a banquet) I still looked good enough to show my face in public. On the other hand, my wife says why go to all the bother of putting my make-up on, then taking it off, then going through the whole routine the next time and why not just have my "face" tattooed on? P.s. NO, I am not wearing make-up in my avatar, regardless of what some people say!
