The Greatest Show on Earth!

In my mind the greatest circus movie ever made, and here is a FANTASTIC song. Emmitt Kelly SR. and Lou Jacobs (with the drum). Elsewhere in this movie you will see Alberto Zoppe (who went on to found Circus Zoppe) as well as a host of Clown legends.

Alberto Zoppe still travels with the Zoppe family circus and gets dressed in costume to appear in the tent every show. His son, Giovanni "Nino" Zoppe is a fantastic clown who ought to be watched by anyone who loves this art.

Yeah, I love that movie. Thank GOD Cecil B. DeMille made it! It is a look back, WAY back, to a wonderful time and what might have been the golden age of the Circus and circus clowns. It was released almost SIXTY years ago.

Next time you watch it note that the train cars are still labelled Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey CONSOLIDATED show, iof that's any indication just how old this movie is.

I know it by heart. I even used the show must go on speech in my acting class. everyone realy should watch it. Remember Jackie LaClare? He was the stunt flyer for the lead. Now we know him as master clown.
