[Bonkers #361]: It was not much pay for a large church but I was doing it for free so at least it paid for my balloons and makeup
[Markie]: $20/hr is what my church usually pays me for things that get paid but those things are rare and never anything with my face painting or any kids stuff

[Bonkers #361]: Well It was half that but I told them I did not expect it I felt like god told me to call he has opened the door for me alot here latlely I have an awesome job and a great family and a daughter that tells me that I am the greatest dad in the world

[MrSillyandSerious]: I am a clown starting out, I have been a balloon twister in the past, and I started getting into simple magic as well, i love entertaining kids
[MrSillyandSerious]: I resisted being a clown for a while but I realized I had not given it a chance
[MrSillyandSerious]: I think I can learn more form clowns than other groups I have been around that specialize in one area or another

[MrSillyandSerious]: Im In Louisville KY and my local alley here is meeting on Sunday it will be my first visit

[MrSillyandSerious]: that is my question, I hear comedy magic is mostly what clowns use but i dont know what classifys something as comedy, can any trick be a comedy magic tric, is it just in how you perform it?
[Jusbytheclown]: there are definitely degrees of how clowny you want to take it
[Jusbytheclown]: you take an average OVER THE COUNTER trick
[Jusbytheclown]: and mock up some giant versions of the individual pieces... then it's easy to do comedy about it
[Jusbytheclown]: OR you just clown up the patter A LOT
[MrSillyandSerious]: i see

[Jusbytheclown]: LOL

[MrSillyandSerious]: it makes sense from what little I have seen, the best example is a rope trick, you get tied up in the rope why performing the trick and then the magic is how you clean it up at the end

I had this squeaker in my pocket that was squeaking, and I was concerned that a bug was nearby. Sure enough, when I got out the "Blooming Boquet" for the birthday boy, there was this huge, hideous fly on it. So I had to get out my Texas Fly Swatter to swat it.

[Pickles]: My problem with the balloons today was that we were outside, and there was sharp grass and pine needles everywhere. I convinced a bunch of kids to have balloon parrots on their shoulders, but all the other balloons were popping.

[Fitzwilly]: I will have to go to balloon animals and check it out. Ken Stillman has two DVDs out for creating superheros and they are both well worth the money. At first you may think that many of the characters are similar, and on the first disk they are but it opens up a whole new world for impressing people.
