You know, I never managed to get into the Big Comfy Couch. Perhaps I ought to give it another try. Still, it always reminded me of Lily Tomlin's "Edith Ann", which was a portrayal that kind of creeped me out (even if the big rocking chair/little girl concept was kind of nifty.)

Heh heh - he said "Butthead."

I really loved Animaniacs, Bullwinkle, Tex Avery's stuff, Flintstones... Very little animation I didn't like, actually. Hong Kong Fooey!

And from The Big Comfy Couch, there's "The Clown Promise". I loved this one. I list the actions she did as she repeated the words because I wanted to memorize it ....

The Clown Promise

<Hold left hand up and place right hand over heart>
I promise to be a real clown

<put right hand in left arm pit and flap left arm twice>
to make mirth on Earth

<put both hands above ears and wiggle fingers>
for all I'm worth

<wiggle rear end and giggle>
With a wiggle and a giggle

<put right hand in front of nose and wiggle fingers>
and a funny face

<take right hand and hold two fingers over the head and cross eyes>
to make the world a better place

<Hold left hand up and place right hand over heart>
Yes, I do!

Ohmygosh, I just thought of my all-time favorite Saturday morning show. It wasn't a cartoon, but I LIVED for PeeWee's Playhouse. I watched it every Saturday morning, and I was NOT a kid. Did anybody else love that show as much as I did?

I remember it, but I wasn't a PeeWee fan. I don't think there was any program that I LIVED for. I liked cartoons and all, but it seemed like there were plenty to choose from. I never got the concept of reruns as a kid. I thought that everything, even the classics like I Love Lucy, was new.

I can't even begin to count how many times my parents would have something better for my brother and I to do than watch TV, so I often heard "Catch it on a rerun." when I tried to convince them to let me finish what ever show I was watching.
