Default Cotton Candy Machines

ok guys.... when i see cotton candy i see $$$$$$$$$$

iam interested in purchasing a cheap affordable (under $150) cotton candy machine... the reason being becuase iam not sure how its going to work in my area, so cheap is better for now until i can use the cheap model to raise money for a better one.

relay for life.... $2 a cone... $1 for me $1 for cancer...

resturant gigs... i could pay my friend $15 an hour to spin cotton candy while i face paint.

private parties....

art fairs....

any event....

OMG i need one! its perfect! GENIUS!!!!!!

Clown Heart Good Luck

I think you will have a hard time finding one for that kinda money Shoq...I been wanting one for along time and yes there is lots of profit in it..actually I bought one once and paid 800 dollars for it and used it 2 times and had to send it back..didnt work after that...they fixed it and sent it back and I sill couldnt get it to work and they bent the body on it when I got it back so once again I returned it and now I no have one...boohooo....i wasnt doing it to make money, I just liked the thought of making it cuz kids smile when they see it..and its really not too bad for ya..takes like a tablespoon to make a decent size cone and thats like 50 calories...soI have a toy one that makes it but it has a different texture..and takes along time, but alot easier to transport...good luck in your search!

Seems like a good idea but you may want to consider children with allergies/daibetes issues as well as the health department.

I worked the state fair back in high school selling cotton candy and such from a midway trailer and the health department audits were always a pain in the ol' saddle duster.

I always thought a good idea would be one of those shaved ice huts all decorated up with me selling the wares in full Clown. Ahhh the pipedreams.

Renting one would definitely be the way to start out. Don't make an investment like that unless you know it's worth it.

BTW, Pickles, at toy stores and kitchen stores, you can get a little countertop model. Not sturdy enough for Shoq to make money from, but probably enough for you. If you eat enough cotton candy to justify having an $800 machine in your house, then you've got a serious problem!

Wow, what a great idea, Pickles ... you're really smart. I wonder if we could have one built in ... next to the microwave. And can we get one in different colors to match our kitchen?? Or maybe we could get rid of that treadmill downstairs and put a CCM in that space ...

Well, back to the original question ... my guess is to check ebay and Craig's List. Sounds like fun. I hope it works out for you.

Well Shoq,

I bought a Cotton Candy Machine last year. Before I shelled out the cash I did quite a bit of research. You don't want to buy a cheap model as it won't hold up, and if it breaks in the middle of an event you are really "in a pickle." Gold Medal is the standard in the indutry. Gold Medal Products: Popcorn Poppers, Cotton Candy Machines, Snow Cones, Shaved Ice, Concession Equipment, Hot Dog Machines You are looking at somewhere between $500 and $1000 dollars. To give you a sense of things, the little plastic shield that keeps the floss from flying everywhere runs between $150 and $175 by itself.
And so you know, I have had mine almost a year and I have not made any money yet. I took it to the Midwest Clown Association Round-Up last year as a fundraiser for the Junior Joeys. I took it to the Spring Fling in March for fun, and I have fired it up at the house when I needed a fix. Other than that, nothing.
Look into renting one they run about $55 to rent and extra floss will run you about $10 a box. Most tent and party rental places have CCM and popcorn machines for rent. Smaller events generally don't make enough to pay for the machine and larger events, if they want a michine, rent one when they rent other supplies from the rental place. Definitely not a get rich quick machine.
