Outline around muzzle
How do many of you clowns get the outline around your muzzle to be so perfect? Mine is often not straight, and sometimes blends in with the white. Should I apply the white first, or the outline first?Whichever method you use that works, please let me know!
Thanks!!

I work light to dark. Practice and a steady hand. Lean against the mirrow if you need to in order to steady yourself.

I keep a spray bottle of windex in the cabinet below my bathroom sink for that very reason!
Also Powder between your white and black... then powder the black. That will help keep it from blending your black and white into grey...

Put the sugar in the tea! Thats where it belongs! I like my tea to be so sweet that I can pour it on my pancakes if I run out of syrup!

The truth is that the outline around my muzzle is rarely "perfect." It caries a bit every time.
Here's my application technique.
I outline my muzzle with a white makeup pencil. I also outline the area where my lips will be red. Now I take some clown white from a makeup container and pat it on in the muzzle area, trying my best to "color within the lines." But that may go over a bit. And, so there is a need to adjust by removing something with a Q-tip. Or by realigning the muzzle a bit to make it balanced.
Once finished with the white for the muzzle, I now apply the red to by lip area. Then I powder. After getting rid of the excess powder, I go back and using a brush (which helps me to keep my lines straight,) I follow the edge of the muzzle to apply an outline. I might go over the edge just a tad into the white or stay entirely on the edge outside it. Depends how steady my hand is and what looks right. Again, I probably make a little mess up. And, again, it just gets adjusted to balance out well. If it's at all on the white, that has to stay and get corrected. Perhaps by making the line a little thicker or the same on each side of the muzzle. If it is on the outside of the line, then again either slightly thickening the outline or just erasing it with a Q-tip works. And, of course, once settled that it is well enough, I powder that.
I agree that leaning my elbow against the mirror can help to steady the process. But, you know, I'm careful with it, also. Outlining my muzzle and eyes probably takes the most time of anything in my makeup application.

And if all goes well, six hours later tim has the face you see in his photo!
Personally, my biggest problem is putting the makeup on TOO thick, which then never sets because the top gets powdered but it's still soft underneath. I'm still learning how to avoid that.

The way you get it NOT too thick is to pat it with your finger after it's applied--that way it evens it out. THEN powder the white. THEN if you don't have a steady hand for the paint outline, use a pencil-it's much more forgiving than paint. I don't have a problem with that (I'm now an auguste) because I"M PERFECT!!!

So how many of you use a pencil to outline and how many use a brush? If you use a pencil, do you use the small one or large?
I DREAD the outlining. My make-up application can be going perfectly and then I screw up the outlining and have a sloppy face. It drives me insane. I always use a pencil, but maybe I should attempt a brush instead.

I use a pencil. One I can sharpen to keep it nice and sharp. I have a different one for my eyebrows. It does not need to be as sharp. Both arre by loreal.

You're an auguste now Jitterbug? I'd love to see your new look! You're an awfully cute white face ... now I'd like to see your about face. I mean auguste face. Is your auguste face still Jitterbug, or a new name too???
