Default food for the road

Last week I was out and had a couple of hours break between gigs. As I was little peckish I dropped in for some fast food. after finishing my fried chicken I noticed I had got a bit on my face. it was then that I also noticed the grease from the chicken cut right into my clown make up. I pretty much had to redo my face as the toilettes also tore into my make up leaving me pretty bland. Lucky for me I had a spare hour and keep spare make up in my car.

Does anyone have a proffered food to eat while in clown? I have begun to enjoy bananas and nuts because they do not affect my make up and go into my mouth easily. Nutrition bars are great and I actually keep a few in my bag and under the seat of my car in my emergency sack. (that could be a new thread). There is nothing like being on a 4 hour roam and your sugar levels drop while half way. As a clown I am 110% energy all the time so this slump is just unacceptable to me.

Anyone have any thoughts or comments about food while clowning?

I would have to say anything that is small enough top put in your mouth in one piece. I used to eat in front of a mirror. Now I keep to simple things like chicken nuggets and carrot/celery sticks. I also like those uncrustables peanut butter/jelly sandwich things. I can break them apart and eat them.

Greasy pizza and fried chicken is one way that some circus clowns have played around with to take off their makeup.

Like Bugaboo said - small stuff is the way to go.

Fortunately I've not ran into food taking my make-up off. Big mouth I guess...

jalapeno poppers, spinach bites, etc for me (not a meat eater)

Chicken Nuggets, Tots, Fries,<whatever finger food you prefer> would likely be safe...

Cheapo cheeseburgers, cut into bite sized pieces. The fries are okay, as long as you skip the ketchup.

Now, nutritionally, that's a different matter...

plain cake donuts. usually I can get buy with most things. If I'm careful I can eat fries, just no ketchup.
Always use a straw. You can't navigate a soda can with a clown nose on....
