New clown chat!

everybody who can make it! come to clown chat on Tuesday around 12:00 P.M. i'll see if this can be an every week thing or every other week. the reason for a new date is because some of us actually sleep during the night, so i'm just trying to make it more convinient

I can't make it but I hope you have some luck. Maybe the times will line up with some of the clowns outside of the U.S. and are unable to make it to the Thursday night chat.

Yeah!!! I have not been a night owl lately and have missed chat. I think this will work for snuggle snort also being over seas.

It will be 3am on wenesday morning here I try and get into chat whenever I notice people there and have the time.

What we should really do (and some do) is make going into the chat room a habit no matter what time or day it is.

edit: Also get Princess to put the chat room and who is in it near the top of the main forum page!

I'm not sure that's a good idea. The chat room is a great feature for the forum, and I certainly think a second chat time is a good idea for our international and younger members, but I worry that if I promote it too much people will choose to do all their talking in the chatroom instead of making new posts. It's the new posts that attract the search engines, thus bringing in new members.

Edit: you know, maybe there's a way to make everyone happy here. First let me find out if moving the chat room info box up is technically possible, as sometimes certain variables only work in certain areas of the template. If it works, I could add having the info box at the top of the page as one of the benefits of donating/premium memberships. (I'm working on other special features, there's just one in particular that's giving me problems and I didn't want to roll out the special features without it.) That way the people who are addicted to the Forum and less likely to stop posting will see the info, and the new members won't be lured by the siren song of the chat room until they've seen the rest of the forum. What do you think about that arrangement?

I am an admited techno-idiot but as I understand it...it sounds great. I wouldn't think chatting could replace posting. Not for me anyways. If it would make people stop posting that would be a bad thing. But my avalible time is different than most peoples I guess.

9 AM pacific on Tuesdays... anything's possible.

I use chat as a kind of survey/ polling station.
If chat were busy all the time and never archived I wouldn't be able to keep track of my results. Unless I posted a thread... and waited and waited... and waited.

perhaps ppl know of a better survy/ poll tool I can use for specific questions, and I can simply enjoy chatting for pleasure.

When you start a new thread there is the option for adding a poll. When that is used it tends to generate a bit of interest so your results shouldn't take too long.
