Default traditional opera

As the cultural center of China, Beijing is a great place to see traditional opera, Chinese acrobatics, and folk arts such as crosstalk and storytelling. These traditional performances can be experienced at many of the theaters and teahouses such as Lao She Teahouse, Beijing Concert Hall, Concert hall of the Conservatory of Music, Beijing Tianqiao Theater, Chang'an grand Theater and Huguang Guild Hall. But, nowadays, most young people don’t like the traditional opera, instead of it, pop music is their favorite. As our proud in the world, opera should not be forgotten, especially the new generation.

I subscribe to Lyric Opera of Chicago. It's a great experience and something of a bargain, considering the relatively low cost I pay for a series of eight works, annually. There are a lot of great clown type characters in the opera, also. Truly, we need to work to bring our cultural and arts sensibility up a level. Or maybe just to make the "high arts" more accessible to the common people. Shakespeare used to be considered quite the plebian thing, afterall.

I must admit that the closest I have come to seeing an opera is Phantom of the Opera. However, I am a supporter of the Opera and I am the webmaster for the Opera Guild of Northern Virginia. They work to introduce opera to local children.
