Default What have the ladies clowns done when they were pregnant?

I'm just wondering if any of you ladies have been pregnant and clowned at the same time. Did you have to change your costume? Did you try to cover up your big belly, or make it work with your costume? I don't want to freak people out by being an obviously pregnant clown!

Well, for starters, Congrats!

Do you know if it's a white face or an Auguste yet?

I'm not sure of what type of clown it is yet. Won't that cute little clown face be a shock to the ultrasound technician?

I like that watermelon seed explanation. Cute!

congrats on the little one. I didn't get back into clowning until mine were older so I can't answer the costume, but basically changing your costume I would guess depends on how your costume fits. Plan from comfort.

I work for Pricilla Mooseburger (Tricia Manuel), and she said that she clowned up until 5 months pregnant -- at which point her costume didn't quite fit that well!
I think that whatever you choose to do, you should seek out and follow your doctor's advice.
Congratulations!

Dittos on the congrats. Hey, we always talked and sang to our little ones before they made their plunge into the world. They learn to recognize their mom voice and are comforted by her heartbeat before and after birth. Happy moms make happy babies, so give it all you got.

Congratulations! I had my two daughters before I started clowning, but it seems that if you had a loose costume people would think you were just a "large-boned" (aka "plump") clown.

Congratulations on expecting your little clownlet!

Wish I could offer some constructive advice but I was already done gestating by the time I got into clowning. Amazingly, Scruff and I still managed to produce three handsome clownlets of our own.

I would agree with the person who said to follow your doctor's advice and your own heart. If you feel comfortable with answering questions and being on your feet, then do it!
