Default Clown makeup and contacts.

Does anyone here have contacts? Do you have trouble with putting on makeup when wearing them?

I usually just put them in after the fact, of course my eyes aren't that bad so I am able to see my face well enough to do makup.

I would just beware while powdering, so you don't dry out your eyes a whole bunch, otherwise you should be fine.

I wear glasses most of the time out of habit (used to be a contact habit) but I always put in my contacts before starting in on the makeup.

My vision started years ago. I have an astigmatism in both eyes which causes my eye doctor no end of fun. I usualy take my contacts out after a show and clean them again. Sometimes they need it and sometimes they don't. I haven't had any problems since I started.

I have to admit, I used to wear contacts while clowning and quit. (I used to put them in before I put the makeup on) Problem was, I sweat a lot from the forehead...in the course of a day's clowning, I'd get the sweat running into my eyes. That sweat, combined with makeup powder would irritate my eyes and cause them to water. Then the tears would deteriorate the makeup below the eye. Just a crummy deal all around.

So I just got myself a pair of thin rimmed glasses (non attention drawing) and made the glasses part of the character. Been happy ever since.

Sorry I don't have any advice on how to make them work for you. I just found contacts to be too much hassle. Some of the best clowns I know wear glasses, like Dave Bartlett and Bubba Sikes...I figured if they could do it, then so could I.

Default Clip ons

I, too have to wear glasses. So I took some clip on sunglasses....popped the lens out...painted the rims and attached LONG eyelashes to them. SO the glasses because a part of my costume

yes and yes! I worry that putting them in first and then powdering will be an issue...but then once makup is on, I can't get them in!!!! What's a blind bat to do?!!
