Giggles,
I am thinking about going wigless myself. I have a large noggin too, so wigs are tight and don't quite cover up my hair. So I have to wear a hood underneath too. So I need to come up with a nice hat or something. I've got a lot of thinking to too.

Itchy the Clown
Fitz,
I told my mom that your new outfit was wool, and she asked if you were now "Itchy the Clown"
Just Curious,

Clown Sewers?
Aren't "clown sewers" where washed-off makeup goes?

I would be if the pants weren't completely lined. It makes them heavier and I suppose a little warmer but much nicer to wear and they hold their shape much better. My shirt is a poly-cotton, not sure about the vest. I wear the coat to and from events in the winter but gennerally take it off during the actual goings on.

Fitzwilly, An iron is a tool sometimes used to cause a brown, burning, and smelly residual effect on one's body. I have one that I think my wife gave me onetime when she informed me something to the effect of, "If you don't like the way i'm using this HERE, DO IT YOURSELF!" Is this a secret message used by women ? She had a smile on her face when this happened. HHMMMMMMMMMM.......

Must be, I didn't catch my typo until a couple of replies had been posted and I couldn't change the title Oh, well, as my signature says "I can't be perfect all the time"

I sew the majority of my own costumes and I definitely like using poly-cotton best. I decided once to sew a cotton outfit and absolutely hated having to make sure it was ironed. Ironing ruffles can be such a pain and time consuming.
In the winter I wear my skirt, petticoat, apron, and bloomers made out of thin poly-cotton and only add long johns underneath if I'll be outside in the cold. This past summer I decided to skip the skirt and petticoat and just made a top to wear with bloomers instead. I even went to short sleeves for my summer outfit and made some thin glove extenders from some infant tights I got from the $1 store. It definitely helped keep me cooler.
So I quit wearing my beautiful cotton costume since I had to iron it and I didn't really find it any cooler than the poly-cotton. Either way I know I'll still be hot (especially when one of those hot flashes hits). Imagine, an 8-year old clown having hot flashes! That's when my balloon pump doubles as a fan.

Thanks for the tip, Blossom ... I just got a nice new balloon pump for Christmas, and being probably the world's WORST ballooner, I'm happy to have a nice balloon pump to take care of the hot flashes. Gee, I wonder if they would let me put it on my desk at work.

You're welcome Nettie Belle. If you do a lot of face painting outside, you may be interested in the small desk type fan I found this past summer at Wal-Mart too. It's rechargeable and has battery backup. It works great and I love that it is rechargeable. I stay much cooler while face painting. Just be careful where you set your glitter so it doesn't blow away. I'm not sure if Wal-Mart would still have them now though, they may not have them again until summer. I highly recommend one though.
