My new Costume!
I have finished my costume!! I used a pattern from Simplicity for Raggedy Ann. Any feed-back or suggestions are welcome. I think I will make a bow for my head and some little ones for the apron. I still haven't settled on a clown name yet, so suggestions on that are welcome too.

Really, really nice job. You might like it if you shortened the pantaloons a little and let your shoes (and maybe even your socks) show.
You are darling.

I am actually thinking about shortening up the whole thing. I had to take in the shoulders about three inches. I am only 5 feet 4 inches, and since everything is made for five foot ten models, welll......
I have some reddish pink heart buttons I might use to embellish on the pockets and where the apron straps would button.
Thank-you for all your comments, I welcome them.
I am thinking of the clown name "Petunia" I only found one petunia on the forum and she hasn't visited in three years!
Oh, or maybe "Flora" I like the flowers on the my costume and I think it should be pretty easy to incorporate flowers into every costume in the future.

My initial thought was "too much red" without anything to break it up. These sort of embellishments might be just the thing which would allow you to maintain that Raggety Ann sensibility while giving it just enough extra decoration to keep it interesting.

You look cute, Carrie. And your children are adorable. They love their clowny mom.
After you shorten it, I think you will be more comfortable, but I think you have a very cute look. Nice job!
One thing ... if I were you, I think pulling your wig down some and your skull cap up, so the only thing you see is the wig.
I am very partial to Petunia ... my friend who just passed away recently was Petunia. I know she would be very happy to know someone else is using that name now.

Nice job, Carrie! Your outfit is very cute and girly (and Blossom loves girly). I agree with the others about shortening your costume too, bloomers included ... so you can show a little leg (woo hoo!). I think shortening it will also draw the eyes up to your cute face too.
I agree with Nettie Belle on pulling the wig down and the skull cap up. If it's a tight fit you may be able to use pantyhose cut up for a skull cap so it is thinner. That's what I had to do with a previous wig. My skull cap just didn't let me bring the wig down to cover it up well enough.
Great job! Cute kids! Oh, and I like the name Petunia too ... a cute Pink Petunia you are.

Thanks for all the feed back. I think I will use Petunia as a clown name, I remember my mom or grandma calling me that a couple times as a kid, someone did anyways.
About the wig, I might be getting a different style of wig, because without a skull cap, my hair line show by my ears. I have a big noggin. I am thinkin about getting a Cindy style wig in Bubblegum color, but that will have to wait a while.

Another question, I am going to make a big bow for the top of my head. Which print should I use, the pink I used for the dress, or the red from the apron and bloomers? I have plenty left over of each, and I bought some 1 inch foam to stuff it with. (I am leaning toward the pink)
