This is an extreme solution, but one of my wigs is a 50s beehive style. It's almost like a cone head. That cone head also works as a kind of hat rack. So if I choose to wear a hat that doesn't want to stay on my head I wear the hat over the beehive cone head wig. It seems to stay on much better than with a regular style of wig.

It occurred to me after I posted that reply that your husband probably doesn't want to wear a beehive wig! lol

Does he wear a wig? I don't therefore I wear a hat that is my actual hat size If he wears a wig, when He needs to buy a hat up to two sizes larger, depending on the thickness of the wig. The other idea would be to put an
elastic strap on that he could wear behind the behind the head.

Clown Star

Depending on the style and thickness of the wig, perhaps you could apply magnets?

Attach a hairpin to the inside of the hat and pin it to the wig? Safety pinning it to the wig might work too.

Default hats

I hold my hat to my straight bald wig with velcro

I sew two small pieces on my bald wig where i want my hat to sit and sew velcro on hat to match the wig it works great for me.

on my curly wig i sew a pad across opening of my small hat and put a large safety pin thur the wig into the patch

I no longer wear a wig, but all of the suggestions for holding a hat on while wearing a wig work, although you may have to experiment a little to get things positioned just right. On the other hand, does your hat have to stay on all the time? Mine fall off quite often, especially when I bend over to retrieve one of those pesky props which simply won't stay in my hands.
