I did when I did a routine with the growing glove, and I am Auguste. I wore white ones.

Auguste clowns have great flexibility, they can choose to wear or not to wear gloves, and if they so choose they can wear any color they find appropriate for their costuming.

Squiggles:

There was recently a thread on this subject. Dig around a little (with your gloves on of course) and you will find it.

I personally think gloves give a clown a tidy, finished look. However, I HATE to wear them. Often I will arrive to a party with them on and then shed them.

As No-Name mentioned, taking off the gloves can be part of your routine if you're wearing growing gloves.

Some clowns cut the fingers off of their gloves so they can still make balloons while wearing gloves. My fingers and hands like to breathe, so I usually skip them altogether.

I never wear them to birthday parties. I sometimes wear them if I am on stage. And that is regardless of style of makeup.

If You are going to compete you need to wear gloves. I do remember once I went on stage at convention and forgot my gloves. The judges did not even notice. You know the old sayin...what color was the blanket on the running mule? (Southern thing I guess) If people are pondering your gloves you are not busy enough.

I always wear them (I am Auguste) for stage/performance/parade work but when it comes to private party or while facepainting/ballooning as "clown" I always start with gloves and then shed them.....
Hope this helps!

I like to be as comfortable as I can. I have them but rarely wear them. Same goes with my wig. Be your own clown I say!

I never wear gloves even though the "rules" say they are required. I have the same affliction as Pig Pen on the peanuts comics where dirt attacks me as if I were magnatized and it was metal. I also have a poor memory for picking things like keys, glasses, gloves, etc. so I would have to buy a new pair for each event. I also cannot work with gloves unless it is with large objects such as saws, wrenches hammers.....

I wear my gloves often now, but often need to take them off to juggle and such. I think they do compliment my clown's look, but they make some actions harder. I onlt take them off when I need too.

I always wear gloves unless some unforeseen circumstance raises its ugly head but I usually carry a spare. So does Blondie. I just like the finished look of gloves. Just my preference, I guess.
