Default Bowler Hats: Questions within...

I'm working on making my clown and magician two seperate entities as part of my restructuring plan (dropping skills, learning skills, swapping skills, etc...) as I bring more friends and family into the clowning & magic world. Also, as mentioned in another thread, some local performers seem willing to alley up - so I can finally focus on the things I want to do, rather than having to be a clown-of-all-trades.

Anyway, back on topic - I digress...

I bought a new (to me) suit to hobo out, and have been browsing some bowler hats. Ferrecci has a pretty nice selection of styles and colors (it's surprisingly difficult to find a brown bowler hat) - with a small price. $29 down from $69 according to amazon and bizrate.

Anyone have one of these hats? Are they durable enough for manipulation?

My bowler is a light brown and 100% wool. I got it for under $20 at my local Burlington Coat Factory. They're located throughout six different states and they have an amazing and inexpensive hat collection.

Here's the locator:

I had a hard time choosing a hat because of all the great options.

Sorry I can't help you Jolly, but it seems to me that if the brim is solid enough that you could add weight evenly and make it work. One thing that came to mind was adding small flad lead weights evenly around the hat under the hat band, or even removing the trim ribbon around the brim and adding the weights there and then replacing the trim.
