I believe that is the week AFTER Easter, yes?

It is the weekend of the Swinger's Ball, which I would otherwise be wanting to attend. But I've missed this "can't miss" event before, so if it is the time that is best for everyone else, then I'm still in! Unless, of course, you all want to go to Southwest Suburban Chicago on Saturday night as part of the event. Then I can do both.

As far as what would I like to see, well what else is being thought of?

I do like the concept of a "get together" versus what is typically thought of as a "convention." I think that the most we can get out of this is a sharing experience. Certainly, I'd be happy to see some classes, if instructors are available either from among us or outside the online group. But I'd ultimately like to focus more on some open time or only semi structured periods for "getting together" to work on stuff of our liking. So, for instance, maybe there could be balloon/magic/facepainting/juggling (or whatever else one likes) jams. We might want to put on our faces and help each other with improving makeup. Perhaps a few would like to show a new piece that they've been working on for their show to see how it carries before an audience. Or maybe someone wants constructive critique of their whatever. There might be a few fun group activities (like improv or running the balloon gamut) which we could do. I think that a little outing would be cool for afternoon touring or evening entertainment. But basically, I'd like to see it be a chance for us to enjoy a weekend together and learn from each other while having lots of enjoyable fun.

I'm definetly going and any date is good with me, I have a question is this for the whole family or just the forum people because my wife and two daughters would love to come.

I think the whole family can come, but they might get sort of bored listening to clowns talk their "clown lingo", as my daughter calls it. A lot of people don't like to be away from their family for a weekend, so I think it would be your choice.

I was wondering about this idea ... you know, at a regular clown convention, there are vendors there, but since this is not a true clown CONVENTION, what about having like a swap shop type thing where everyone can put their unwanted clown things out (with prices on everything) and we could shop from each other ... just a thought. I know I could eliminate some stuff and never miss it. I think we all have things that we thought were really cool and brought it home and stuffed it in the closet never to see daylight again. But to someone else, our junk might be just what they're looking for. What do you think??

I think that's a great Idea I know I need stuff and I like Holly Jolly's Idea of having some classes but I think not so structured maybe just a little layed back, Also I would like to have a juggling class and I will gladly run that class if need be. Man I can't wait!!

I like the swap shop concept. Some of the best stuff I have picked up for my clowning has been other clowns' second hand pieces.

I don't think I would really want a "dealers room" for the most part (not that we would have many "dealers" present at the gathering, anyway.) But neither would I have an objection to a couple of the speakers putting out their wares for sale if that could help us get a good class or two out of it. Afterall, we all need "stuff" (and clowns do like to buy things.) There are typically fairly good deals available at conventions when these suppliers put their items on the table at conventions. So a limited amount of that sort of thing may be worthwhile.

Oh...and.... my stuff is pretty wanted since I have not yet been a clown a year yet.....But I would probably buy alot from my new clown friends.....

I think at least one hour while we're all together, we should gather together and accept the things we cannot change and talk about our terrible addiction to STUFF!! A support group type thing.
