Dave Hill

Performing for over 20 years, Dave has gone from novice clown to full-time business owner, speaker, and notorious comedy performer. Some say he's genius, others say he's just sick. Dave's motto: "If you can't have fun, you might as well stay at home."

Dave (aka The Almost Amazing Rex/Rex The Wonder Clown) has entertained audiences small & large for companies such as Lowes Home Improvement Warehouse, Lennox China, 98 Lumber, RJ Reynolds, AT&T, Wal-Mart, etc. From intimate parties to company picnics to Grand Openings & banquet shows, Dave is in demand.

A long time member of the Berkeley Civitan Clowns, Dave donates countless hours both to entertain & raise money for the mentally & developmentally disabled. He is instrumental in keeping fellow clowns abreast of the latest news in the clowning industry.

His business, Balloons & Clowns, began 12 years ago as a small store front business specializing in balloon deliveries & birthday parties; it now comprises a retail balloon shop, gift store, and entertainment agency which keeps 6 to 8 local performers busy year round. The mail order division provides entertainers world wide with balloons, magic, & clown supplies. Beginning only 5 years ago, today it generates considerable annual sales from a 2000 sq. ft. warehouse, and is growing by leaps & bounds.

In addition to entertaining, Dave also shares his experience through
teaching. Dave is a featured speaker at magic and clown conventions across the US & Canada. A member of the Fellowship of Christian Magicians, Clowns of America Intl., & World Clown Association, he has presented at national and regional events.

With 2 presentations on video ( "Magic on the Move" & "How to
Make $1,000 a Day") and a book ("Nice Work... Now You Can Get It") to his credit, Dave works to maintain high standards in the performance arts.

KEb9Kq2v4xQp5Fd3Ig=) Mrs. Terry

Terry Whaples comes to the creative arts industry from a nearly 30-year career in hospitality. She previously served as partner and president of Nickelodeon Family Suites by Holiday Inn, where she not only managed overall hotel operations, but also transformed Holiday Inn Family Suites Resort into the first-ever Nickelodeon hotel and pioneered the widely adapted revolutionary KidSuitesŪ concept. This concept, which provides kids with their own private space, bedding and amenities, can now be found in more than 100 Holiday Inns and has been adopted by several international hotel chains.

During her tenure with Holiday Inn, Whaples simultaneously balanced her many hospitality endeavors while attending Clown College and Vent Performer School. Her interest in creative arts led to the establishment of Cooker T. Ministries, a nonprofit foundation committed to clown and ventriloquist performances for children and families.

In 2006, Whaples sold her share of Nickelodeon Family Suites by Holiday Inn with plans for retirement. However, God inspired Whaples with a vision to fuse her passion for children and ministry with her creative expertise for the purpose of winning souls for Christ, which led to the birth of a new direction for Whaples & Associates. Whaples brought talented pastors and other ministry professionals * leaders in the faith-based creative arts community together to provide teaching tools to teachers through creative arts in the inaugural CARAT Conference.

Terry uses visual performing arts to teach God's Truths. Our shows take the form of creative storytelling utilizing gospel illusions, music, Terry uses ventriloquism, balloon sculptures, cartoon drawings, face painting, clowning, comedy, stilt walking and paper cutting object lessons. Although our program varies based on ages of the audience, subject matter, or themed events. The message of Jesus Christ is always the same.

Yeah, the opportunities just keep coming! I think fate is smiling on you. Now's the big chance!

The shows are free and the workshops only $15. I think we might even be willing to fund a little scholarship here for you (and your mom, if she wants) to attend.

Even though you couldn't make it to the fling, Willace, this sort of thing is an excellent type of gathering which is special in it's own way. And it would be a special experience that none of the rest of us get to have. So I'd encourage you to try and make it, if at all possible. We'll gladly pay the bill if you can get someone to take you. I really do think that if your mom and you could both go together, it would help your clowning grow immensely. Start working on getting that together now (it's only 2 week away, afterall) and it just might work out for once.
