Default Great Circus Parade

I would LOVE to come to the parade "if" it materializes.

I have been to the Circus World Museum in Baraboo a couple of times but it's also been struggling the past couple of years. I understand the "BIG TENT" is no longer up? I don't think it's been the same since Greg & Karen Santo left.

If the parade materializes and my travel schedule allows, I'll more than likely come. I would be just as happy to be a spectator than a working clown (grin)!

Keep us posted if you hear more!

Sparky

Greg and Karen were there when I visited Circus World a few years ago. They are going to be a MooseCamp this year. I am assuming they are still tapped in to what is going on there. I will see what I can find out as well.

Circus World is changing, but growing. They had some problems in recent years. Now they have a legitimate director who understands how to run a major museum. It's going to take some time, but I think that things are, ultimately, on the upswing.

The Circus Parade is expensive to operate. This is why it had to be discontinued. It's probable return (even if not on an annual basis) is a great step forward for the institution. (There is already a tacit agreement for the Kelly Miller circus to play Milwaukee during the convention.)

There have been some changes at the museum which not everyone is happy with. But they are economic realities. Bottom line, their finances and fundraising are growing which will allow them to come up to par with what can be done long term.

I understand that Neal Skoy (former Moosecamper and just off Ringling) is to be the featured clown at Baraboo's Circus World this summer.

I've been up to the area quite a few times, but I've never been to Circus World. Honestly I didn't realize it had so much to offer, nor did I know the amount of history involved.

If these medical bills keep coming in below what I expected, it may be time to take another dells vacation with circus world included!

Thanks everyone for bringing this to my attention - and the parade seems like a must-see next year also.

I plan to go back with my kids this summer when they're doing all the circus performances. During the winter, it's just the museum -- no shows (and a lower admission rate than in the summer). But, I've gotta tell ya, I was really impressed. Circus World was MUCH larger and impressive than I had ever dreamed. It's a must-see destination for every clown.
