Default My first gig

Most of you know that I work at Goodwill and I do grand openings and promotions for them, but I have my first (real gig) outside of work on Sunday 18th. I'll be volunteering at the Sojourner Recovery Services, in Hamilton with another clown. I contacted him and he asked me to join him and help raise some money for the kids field trips and etc. I might be getting some more jobs after volunteering with him. I've also talked to my fiancee's boss and he let me post flyers in the resturtant that she works at. I might be volunteering there as well, but he said he would pay me. I might just charge him a little something, I always get free food from there anyhow. I'm making sure that I take my business cards with me Sunday and for sure if I work at the resturtant. I'll post pics if I get some.

Sounds like you are getting some good experience!, CheckerZ.

And if your fiancee's boss wants to pay you, by all means take him up on his offer! All those balloons, magic tricks, make-up, etc. cost money!!!

Always take the money especially as much as everything is going up. I think I would tell him to pay me at the end what he finds fair. Never bite the hands that feeds you. But don't undercut your self If you need experience good but he is making money. I am pretty sure that he did not give out free meals for experince. Have fun and show off those talents!

Clown Heart

Have fun! I remember my first paying job 15 years ago. I was sooo nervous! Sometimes the jitters are good as you will be filled with EXTRA energy and act a little goofier and that's great. No one will even know how you are feeling because they will think you are just "acting" that way as part of your clown personality.

Today went great at the Sojourner Recovery Services. I meet up with Daluni and him and I had a blast clowning around and making balloon animals. I feel that this is a beginning of a new clown friendship. (It's in the early stages) I'm glad I meet up with him and hopefully we can team up in the future!!!

Isn't he a member here on the Forum? I am pretty sure he was at Moosecamp around 2000 when I was a camper. Nice guy and fairly talented if I remember.
