Default Birthday party July 11th

Ok some I'm doing my first bDay party and I kinda need some idas. I'm doing it for a co-worker, so she has seen me at Grand Openings for work etc. What do you suggest me doing? I think there is going to be about 15-20 kids, not sure though. Should I do balloon animals, a little magic, and I have a game, it's "Pin The Nose on the Clown", do you think this is enough for any hour? Any suggestions on prices? (PM Me with the price suggestions) I'm excited and I want to do GREAT!!!

Every birthday party that I have done I start stressing about doing good but when I get there I do balloons and a few magic tricks. If you have 15 to 20 kids and you are doing balloons the hour will be up beffore you know it.(time flies when your having fun) you may want to add some dance.

If you are going to be outside one way that I make the Bday child fell special is I tell everyone that everytime I say the childs name thhey have to screm HAPPY BIRTHDAY. And if they don't hear you say the childs name say it louder. kids love to scream. and about the stressing just go and have fun ,if you have fun then they will have fun also.

CheckerZ:

How exciting about your upcoming party!

Whatever you decide to do (magic and balloons sounds great), make sure you practice beforehand. You might feel silly going through your routine in an empty room, but by doing so, you will be more confident at your party.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Do you know how old the children are Checkerz? What magic tricks are you thinking about doing?

Balloons are always a big hit. Just make sure to create something extra special for the birthday child.

When I practice for a speech or clown gig, I vidoe record it. That way I can go over it and criticize (oops critique) myself. Makes it wherew there is a mechanical audience.

The birthday girl is going to be 3, and has never seen a clown before, so I don't know how it's going to go. The other chidren I think are under 10. Has anyone ever had a problem with a kid screaming and shouting because they are scared of you? What have you done to make the child feel great about clowns?

The party is going to be at a park, so I think I will use the screaming idea.

About the tricks, was going to do a couple sponge ball tricks and maybe a change bag. I have the three different lenght ropes and they all become the same lenght. (I forget what it's called) I also was thinking about the magic coloring book.

Any ideas to make this an AWESOME paty?

Those tricks sound good to me. Once suggestion you might consider, if it's going to be a public park that is usually full of children, you might want to give out stickers or some thing to help you identify the birthday group. With 15-20 kids, it could be difficult to keep up with who's in your group.

One way to try to get the kid to come around is stay a way from the child and when they see everyone else have a good time they may come to you. One thing I do is every once in a while look at the kid or maybe go toward the kid to see if it is still afraid of you or offer it a balloon or something to get the child to relax around.

Let the parents know if the child is pressed to go up to the clown, the clown will move away at the same speed. A lot of parents feel that "facing the fear" is the way to get a child over fear of strange things but it usually makes it worse.

That is how I handle the situation of scared children. Trauma should be left for the E.R.
