Greetings friends in Clowning!

I am passing on a performance opportunity of a lifetime. It is with the Feld corporation who own Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Circus. It is not a job on the circus, but a performance job of a different capacity. My dear friend and Clown College classmate David Kiser sent me the following email. Please only serious applications only. You must be able to commit to 9 months. This is like performing like a clown without make-up in a Disney like show. You will be assisting kids as volunteers from the audience, doing warm up before the show. There may be a spot in the show depending on your skill level.

Hi Tricia,

Please let me know if you have any alumni interested in a traveling position. This is a stage production that travels by bus and plane, staying in hotels once in the performance cities. The show will most likely play multiple cities each week. The tour is approximately 9 months. We are looking for someone with performance experience and basic clowning skills, i.e., juggling, meet and greet, close up magic, etc. They will not appear in traditional clown make-up. Sorry for the brevity but if you know of anyone interested I can fill in with more information. Again we are looking for now, ready to start immediately.

I was thinking the same thing. It might not be exactly what he's wanting but I'm sure it'll be a great experience not to mention a possibly door opening up for the circus.

It may not be a clown gig, but just think how much you could learn in nine months of performing every day. I think I could give it nine months.

In some ways, I suspect that this is actually much more and better of an opportunity than clowning with Ringling would be. And you still get to put Feld on your resume at the end of the day.

If only I was 20 years younger and in a job without a great retirement... OR already retired and single.

Hey, I am single and don't have any retirement plans.... Just how to overcome the 20 years younger part... Honestly, if it paid enough for me to keep my mortgage payments or I had enough time to find a renter, I would do it. 35 isn't too old to be on the road.
