Default Troupe Comique

Earlier this week I was invited to perform for Circus of Dreams. It is an amazing project that I am really excited to be a part of. Right off it is the first circus I will have ever performed in. Most of the performers are aerialists and acrobats and I am really the only clown in the show!

They sent me a performer's information packet which requested a bio, act description and a website amongst other things so I wanted to share each of those here and get feedback on the Troupe Comique website.

Bio:

Jeremy January, the actor behind the silent vaudeville clown Chance Marmalade got his start on the Seattle stages back in 1992 with Seattle Children's Theatre. A graduate of the NW Actors Studio two year conservatory Jeremy has performed all over the city and has taken his one man clown show to Spring Fair in Roseburg Oregon and onto the streets of Seattle, Eugene and San Francisco. Chance Marmalade made his Seattle stage debut at the Jewel Box Theatre earlier this year. Mr. Marmalade's dream is to play the title role in Waiting For Godot.

Act Description:

Silent vaudeville style clown in the flavor of Chaplin and Keaton. Mime, audience participation, physical comedy and slapstick juggling.

Website (which I have done some major updates to):

www.troupecomique.com

Let me know if everything on the site works for you!

Thanks to those of you that check it out!

Really nice work, Chance! Too often, entertainers' websites aren't this slick. What are you using for editing?

Thanks Tim. The company has always had one of my favorite builders. The ads aren't as invasive either. When I have some loot to spare I'll have the ads removed which isn't too expensive (starts at 2.99/month I believe) and two weeks ad free.

The company is Moonfruit and they have some really fantastic designs and options. It took me a little longer to figure out how to use it than some of the web builders with less bells and whistles but you can set up a really nice looking page with a minor amount of playing. If you make one I'd love to see it!

@Gladman, haha thanks! I haven't actually thought to name my hat. That is not a bad idea though. It does have a personality of its own!

Clown Star

Looks great Chance, but why not have a bigger head shot on the splash page?

Thanks Finito! The website is for my silent theatre troupe which has three members so I wanted to stay away from having my face dominate it. Right now my pics are the only ones I have but I'm getting together photos of the other members and will add those in too. Should I perhaps make the photo box bigger?

I can't wait to do this show. I had a very pleasant surprise today when I dropped by the performer's section. The director had asked for a photo and bio which I sent last week. I visited today and there I am! Check it out! I am not sure many people will get the Godot joke in my bio though.

Looks good to me Chance. I'm not sure I get the Godot joke, but does it have something to do with the Brit Com "Waiting For God"? Probably not, but it was worth a guess.
