Default Cruise as a face-painter

If you are confident in your skills as a face-painter than sign up to cruise around with www.sixthstar.com. They've listed their new cruises for 2007 and are currently looking for painters to fill the dates. I've gone twice now and it is a blast!

Happy Painting!

Default I'm so excited!

I just got confirmed for 2 cruises through sixth star on the Royal Caribbean cruise line. I continue to be rewarded from my education at Mooseburger. I owe alot of my happiness in life to Marcella and her excellent class I took on face painting.
Just wanted to share that with you. Any of you gone on a cruise as a balloon twister or face painter?

Woah, woah, hold on a minute. Now THIS is something I have never heard of. You're going on a cruise as a facepainter? In clown, I'm asuming? Do you get to do some walk-around bits too? A show? How often throughout the cruise will you be working/performing? How long is the cruise? Do you get free boarding AND payment (if you don't mind me asking.)? Where are you going? Are you going to go on land as a clown too?

Start talking! (please. )

I just received a letter from them ... I guess I'm on their list, so I've got my suitcase packed for the call from them. They want balloonists too. I suppose they're trying to decide where I would fit in the best ... balloons ... face painting ... balloons ... face painting ...

Anyway, it sounds like a lot of fun. Does it pay for spouses too?

To the best of my knowledge you still pay the cruiseline to go. Just at a greatly reduced rate. You paint or twist for about two or three hours a day I believe and the rest of the time is yours.

Default scoop on cruises

It is a working vacation for you and a guest..that's right...a free guest. It is basically free (you pay $30 a night...so between 2 people that is only $15 an head) and are responsible for tipping. Food and entertainment are free.
On my 8 night cruise I am expected to paint 6 times for 2 hours a session. The cruise will let me know closer to my first sailing if they want me in full clown or not. We are asked to stick to what they hired you for..in my case face painting as to not interfer with the other onboard entertainment (henna tatoos, magicains ect) So I don't think walk around tricks and gags would be allowed. We were planning on a 10 year annerversary/honeymoon we never had this year anyway...so it works out....any other ?'s feel free to email me privatly.

Default Face Painting Cruises

They would like it if you would paint in costume but it's not necessary so I don't. I don't want to take the extra luggage Iwould need to take "Sparky" along, plus the time each day to make up and clean up.

I did, however take Sparky on my last cruise because it was over Halloween and they have a huge costume party. No sense "reinventing the wheel!"

Sparky has fun on ship! She's like to go more, but I won't let her. Next cruise Aug 08. We're LOVING this!
