Hey Shoq,

The Detailz are nice and consistent. I wouldn't bother buying them in any colors other than white and black, which is what Heather at Silly Farm reccommended to me. The containers kind of work like nail polish bottles and the brushes attached to the cap don't come out of the bottle SUPER quickly so I usually end up forgoing them and just using my brush. They do look a lot better than the brush though, if you have a really detailed face.

I have starblends in red(for spidey) white(for everything) orange (for tigers) and I'm thinking about getting the pink for butterflies. They go on very quickly, easily, smoothly, etc. They seem to leave traces of powder on the kid's t-shirt or whatever, so I really need to practice with them. They paint much more differently on the practice heads than on skin, much more so than your typical cake or liquid paint, so I really need a human to give a real review.

I think overall you'll definently be happy with your new toys though. Have fun!

Tutti,

I have played just slightly with both Star Blend and with Magicake. I don't remember the benefits of each verses the other. Have you messed with Magicake?

Since I live in a warm climate I decided to give Starblends a try. Especially since the new black spiderman is popular and the thought of putting black paint all over a child's face is not a fun one. But the powders are great for that. But remember not to wet your starblends because once wet you always have to use them that way. I am not too crazy about the starblends for other faces - I really think they are too dull- but for spidey (red/ black and white) I broke down and got them and I am happy with them.

Detailz are nice if you have the time- if I have alot of kids I don't have time to take them out and just use my brush for small dots instead.

Have fun!

Default Star Blend

I use star blends in every color for many things.....I have not had the problems with getting any on shirts....are you using a smoothie blender? Parents really seem to perfer using the powders for many faces, especially around the eyes on the full face designs....they don't get that wet feeling that can be uncomfortable and will smear with the other paints if they accidently open their eyes.
Also....for my kit I have gotten a foam like sponge that is the size of my kit and cut out holes the size of my starblend containers and glitter. They fit snuggly inside and don't move around. I just remove my lids when I get to my gig and I am ready to go..also my brushes then stand up in little holes that I cut out for them as well as my smoothie blenders. Also in my kit is some krylon, ben nye, and snazaroo.
