Ok, so I was Santa for our pediatrics wing of the hospital where I work. It may not technically qualify as clowning, but it was very rewarding. I'll try to post some pictures of these little ones as I handed out the cookies and stuffed toys. Anyways, it opened the door to do some real clown visits in the future. Well, the ICU nurse manager, my boss, saw the pics and heard about my clown ambitions. She wants me to clock in whenever I do what I was planning to do for free. She is even talking about perhaps starting a small clown unit. I was quite surprised and pleased by her response. All I can say is, we need to be open to whatever comes along and whatever presentation works for the occasion. The goal is to bring a little joy and laughter to others. Its kind of sad to think of a self centered person who is convinced he or she is a real clown.
