Red face Props for Hospital Clowning

I'm sure this is an old question. I'm an old clown who is just starting to re-invent herself. From wild and crazy clowning to clowning in a nursing home to accommodate my age related physical conditions. I would like recommendations on where to buy funny props, and ideas for making some. I read some place someone was using a sethescope that made funny sounds, anyone know where to get one of these. I did a one on line without sound, it has a green plunger on it, but the thing is bend so weird, it won't stay in my ears, like it's way too long. Maybe I was expecting too much. Any other funny walk arounds that might bring a smile in a nursing home to residents or staff would be appreicated. I do have the stool sample, pea in bottle, funny hammer, funny bone. Also am aware of Freeb B's, using stickers. Since I'm going in to visit twice a month, want to keep using fresh ideas. Or if anyone knows of any sites good for getting new ideas that might work in this kind of clowning. Thanking you in advance. You may email me as well. Ida Noe

Do a Google search for:
Patty Wooten (Author of a really good book and many articles)
Shobi Dobi (Author, speaker and creator of...)
The Hospital Clown Newsletter
Caring Clowning (General name of this area of clowning)
Annette Daragh (Creator of Clowns Care Inc & Vendor of CC products)
Tom "E" Boy King (I think has a few props for caring clowning)
Bubba Sikes (Really good guy and knowledgable about caring Clowning)
The Big Apple Circus

That should get you started.

I bought a small silk ivy plant to carry around and ask if anyone needs their I.V. changed.

Also, there's the idea of little fish stickers to stick on the I.V. pouch to make it an Aquarium.

I've used small pocket magic that I can carry.
I have about 3 small trick that have to do with picking a certain color, stickers, , a rubber band, and I do use the picture prop with my kids {mine's a picture of my brother's baby goats]. I also have a pocket size "king in the middle" . and a few others,
When I was going to the hospital I'd do jokes, silly stuff, like "how are you feeling today" and generally they respond with things like better, alright, OK and I gently touch them on the arm and tell them they feel OK to me.
Now the nursing home is different, here they gather ever one into the day room and they expect a show, so I bring my ministry group and we do two or three skits, stories, jokes , sing a few songs and do some meet and greet.

ClownAntics.com has hospital props. The stethescope you have is like the one I bought. The "plunger" is good, the rest is junk. Talk to someone in nursing and see if you can get or buy a cheap "real" stethescope from them. Pull the "plunger" gizmo off the real one and glue the clown plunger onto it. It will then stay around your neck and it looks great!
