Hello dear Clowns and clown lovers. I am an amatoure that want to be a proffessional. In my country there are no infos about clowning or clown schools. And the problem is that This is what I want to be. I haave graduated of an univercity of acting that lasts 4 years. Even after all that people think of me I love to be a clown. Thats why ý am created a company that does only clown shows. Actually a clown entertainer. That goes to the partys, makes gag to every one... I do face painting, baloon sculping(ups got that wrong?I mean bending those long baloons and making dogs , hats ext.) magic, and we play around with the kids. I have been to about 30 jobs at last 6 months I know its not so much. But I am trying my best. Any way. I would love to learn everything that ý can do on. And ý want to learn this clowning professionally. And ý want to get a certificate too. And I want to teach the people who want to work with me as a clown too... So is there any online istes that you can advice me that so ý can get lessons? Hope to hear from you soon... You can ask me anything you wish, or want to learn. well over here in Turkey, every family is dreaming of an great clown as they see on the films. But non of the clowns are as they expect. Actually the people do the clowning do not know anything about the art. And they dont care too... But I want to change this. I am not great! But ý am better then the rest. and this is making me more popular every other day.But ý dont want to be popular here just cause ý am better then the other ones.. They are 1 I am 2. But I want to be 5 the best I can...I want to be as proffessioanal as you. I want to know every thing. I buy books. My best mate is the book named Creative Clowning. But thats not enough. I also bought Be a clown(Turk Pipkin) and some more... But generally they all teach just some very known tips.. I want to learn it as a lesson. Thanks for the answers again

Well you are already ahead of the others like you said. Your heart is really in it. You know the make up dosen't make you the clown your heart dose the make up only makes your face. Your going good dont give up & keep caring & you will be a pro clown

I hope that we can help you. Creative clowning and how to be a clown are two excellent, BASIC texts on this art. Do you have any skills in Acrobatics or juggling? Physical comedy is a big part of being a clown. I would suggest that you look for books on pantomime. An excellent on is called the physical comedy handbook by Davis Rider Robinson. I would also suggest studing great actor of the silent movie era. Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Harlod LLoyd, Fatty Arbuckle, the Keystone cops, Laurel and Hardy. You will be able to glean good technique and many visual gags from these movies. I think you should be able to find them on DVD in a workable format for Turkey.
I think a great help in being a clown is to watch and study people and how they react in public. Go to a cafe, order a coffee and observe how people act and react with people. Children interacting with their parents for example. I hope that we can help you. I applaud your desire and willingness to learn. And,I presume that you are using a picture of yourself for your Avatar, I like the look of your makeup. It works well with your facial structure, and the colors are very good. You are well on your way to reaching your goal.

Welcome to the group. Ask any question you have and I'm sure some one or many will chime in to help you answer it.

as far as as internet site to get "lessons" and a certificate. I don't know of any. Many of us here have taken classes at conferences, which I know you stated you don't have any there.

A certificate does not make you a professional clown.

Welcome to the Clown Forum deanvefikizgi! Have you taken a look at our articles yet? We may not have all that many but some are very useful, such as Fubbles' unicycle tutorial. I don't know of any sites that offer online clowning lessons, but I'm sure you can learn a lot here on the forum. Ask any questions that come to mind or jump in anywhere you like.
