Small town clown
I'm Fifi D. Clown from Watertown (a small town in Northern New York State). Started clowning about eight years ago when I was a clown in our local theater group's production of the musical "Barnum". Three of us playing clowns had a great time doing publicity for the show and learning clownish ways and stuck with it. Over the years I've developed a comedy magic act, do facepainting, and balloon animals, and general goofiness at parties, restaurants, walk around events, festivals, and church. I am always nervous before doing a clowning event but come away so satisfied when it is over because of the people I've made laugh and smile. Some fun things I like to do:
Sing backward - I tell people that not only can I sing forward, like "normal" people, but I can sing backward too! I make up a few silly lines of a song and sing it forward using big hand gestures. Then I ask them if they want to see me sing it backwards. When they say "yes", I turn my back to them and sing it again the exact same way facing away from them. They are always amazed!
My favorite joke of the moment is:
Knock-knock
Who's There?
Amish
Amish Who?
That's funny -- you don't look like a shoe!
Whenever I do something stupid (which is every 37 seconds) I tell people "I changed my mind yesterday and this one doesn't work any better!"
