Default Slappy the clown

i'm an entertainer who does clown shows, costume characters and singing telegrams, so a bit of everything to keep the $ coming in. I am not really trained in clowning, just kind of picked it up. i stay happy, silly, joking, playful, always dancing, using funny accents, funny walks, but don't have a definate fixed character. I kind of adapt to the party setting; yes mostly do b-day parties, so feel like sometimes I have so much to fit into an hour that it's hard to relax and be a clown! Where's a good place to put a costume together, i wear a stupid clown suit? Any tips out their??

Welcome to the forum and yes look around for some training, costuming is part of your clown personna. so think about what type of personality and what type of clown you want to develope, then we can help with suggestions on costuming. Where are you located and perhaps we can suggest places to look for training that's near you.

Welcome Slappy. Seems like you're on the right spot. I would say give a real good read around on this forum. Their is already said some useful things about the questions you walk around with. For example:

http://www.clown-forum.com/costumes/...-costumes.html.
http://www.clown-forum.com/newbies-c...character.html

I also started with just try it out/pick it up while doing it. This is a good start. After this I folowed some training. This did gave me a real good push forward. So yes I'm with you Balloo and SaphireSue

Where are you located Slappy? I'm sure one of use can point you to something or some thing relatively mearby. It sounds like you are off too a good start, and a bit of friendship with other clowns and a peck of training and who knows where your star may go.

Glad you found the forum. Looking forward to talking with you. Lots of great folks and, by the way, if we don't have an answer we'll try to make you laugh by saying something funny (or at least intellectually nonsensical)
