Default Hospital Clown looking for support and ideas

Hi Everyone. I'm still a novice specializing in hospital clowning. I'm looking for other clowns who have already gone down this road who are willing to share ideas about activities for kids, teens, adults, and seniors. I've recently started a hospital clowning "program" - consisting of me - to visit patients 4-5 times per year. Right now I'm simply saying "hi", giving out valentines and stickers, sharing a joke of the day, and reading children's books or short articles about birds and flowers. I'm still not at the relaxed phase of clowning yet but I have a great time doing it. I get more from the smiles and hugs given to me that the meager things I give them.

Thanks for letting me introduce myself. I look forward to hearing from others.

In joy and laughter,

Flutter

Howdy Flutter. I posted some of the props I've used in the hospital clowning section, there were more so hopefully other will post more in there for you to give you some more ideas.

Great Flutter. I'm not a Hospital clown myself but I really "have a high hat up" as we say it around here for them who do. So welcome to this nice forum with great people around.

HIya Flutter - you might wanna check out clownantics.com, as in their books section they carry some of the basic hospital clowning books and a lot of clown Rx stuff. And other kewl stuff. I buy a lot of foam noses from them because they have them in other colors than red.

I myself have just started "Clown Care" with my dog as a partner. This is a little different, as the dog is the star attraction, and the clown is the second in the "act". I am doing this through a local pet therapy group.

best of luck.

Welcome Flutter.(why do I keep wanting to say flutterbug?) I'm an R.N. and do some clowning in our pediatric wing on the clock. It's great that you have been able to spearhead a clowning program in your hospital. Please keep us posted as to your progress. Lots of great interaction on this forum. Here are some sites I found last week. Bye for now.
