My story? Well, I tend to work too much, 60 + hours a week. As I was approaching my 50th birthday, I realized I didn't have a hobby or creative outlet and so decided to take the classes for clowning, mostly just for fun and to have 'something' on my calendar other then work.
The curriculum was far more then I expected and I ended up learning a lot, not only about acting, physical comedy, and clowning - but about myself.
The process of character development was enlightening. I think, as a result of the training I received, I am a better person. I found the 'fun' side of me.
Once I performed in public a couple of times (part of our training) I got the 'bug' as they say. I love making people laugh. I especially love the work I'm doing as a clown in nursing homes, visiting with folks that have no family - no visitors - and have lost their oomph for life.
I highly recommend the Ohio Clown College. The headmaster (Robert Kreidler) is a seasoned actor, a story teller, and just an amazingly talented man. Most important, he is a patient man.

I never expected to have folks invite me to an event and pay me for this. But that's exactly what's been happening. In fact, I've had so many requests I have to pass them on to other clowns. I still have my day job but if I could ever figure out a way to let it go I think I could enjoy my life as a full time clown.
Any way, that's it for now. Thanks for asking.
