Default My introduction

Hello,
I just stumbled on to this page by accident and thought, why not join. I am a new Clown just started Clowning recently. I am a Shrine Clown. I just thought I could get some helps and hints from some more experienced Clowns. I do have a sad bit of info, I do not have a name for my clown! Help! any suggestions on how to start picking a name?

Welcome S! Don't worry, a name will find you. Many clowns here were named by a loved one, others had it come to them in a flash of inspiration, others tried on different names until they found the one that fits.

Welcome Smitty, one thing is to relax about your name and not over dwell on it. At first you will just be "the clown" to people no matter what your name is anyway. As your character develops you will come up with something that fits. Perhaps it will be a mannerism that develops or another hobby you are interested in, what ever direction your inspiration comes from be assured it will come. Until then try a few names. Your costume is sure to change, your makeup (looks good so far) will probably change some (mine sure did) so why not your name? (Mine changed significantly three times.)

Welcome to the Forum. Columbus, OH is about 4hrs from here but I know Shadpoke is from up thatta way.

Fitzwilly said it all when picking out a name but I kinda like 'Smitty'. Maybe even choose a Hobo/Tramp character to go with it. Now, that would be Cool!

Just a thought....

Hey there Suitcase, no influencing the newbies in that way, we have enough bums here on the Forum. We Augustes are beginning to feel out numbered between you and the white faces.

Hi, Schmitty - I like the "sch" sound to Smitty.

I agree, a name is the least important thing you have
to come up with - a name will find you. If I recall, the
Ringling Clowns don't even worry with names, they use
their real name or a nickname from childhood.

Pull up a chair, kick back and take a look around. LOTS
of great info here.
