Hi Everyone
I have clowned in the past and am considering getting back into it. I am an amatuer face painter/balloon artist. I would like to focus on clown ministry/hospital clowning.

Cnennich ... (how do you pronounce that, by the way?)
It's fun here ... we're happy you found your way in here. Questions you may have can be discussed and there's bound to be some helpful information. In fact, I started out clowning in the hospital where I work. That was how Nettie Belle was born. I don't do it anymore but it was very rewarding when I did.
There are probably LOTS of hospital clowns here who can give you input. Clown ministry is a big desire for me too. I've done a little bit, but would love to do more.
Anyway ... you'll be happy you're here! We are too!

Another Indiana clown! Welcome, welcome. Sit down put your feet up and enjoy the friendship. There are a number of clowns in the Indy area, another group in Kokomo as well as the rest of the state. How long have you been face painting and twisting?

More About Me!
Well, here goes, my name is Carrie. I am a minister's wife, mother of a 3 year-old and 4 and a half-year-old, and a part-time dental hygienist. So much stuff, so little time. I'm not sure how I'll find time in my already busy schedule for clowning, but I would love too. I live in Anderson, IN, so if anyone lives near me, or knows another clown nearby, let me know. I tried to contact the Muncie alley of the COAI, but my e-mail hasn't been returned.
I clowned quite a lot in college, and learned to twist balloons and face paint then. I've gotten into clown a few times since then for church fun fairs usually. Last month I twisted for a fundraiser for my son's school and really enjoyed it. I am thinking about character development, etc. My own personality has matured and changed, so this would be a great time to develop a new character. I am thinking about going with minimal makeup and a crazy hat (without wig) (more of a character clown). Anyway, we will see what happens. I have inspiration at home with my little ones, they are so funny!
My son's Pre-K class (he attends a Christian school) visits a nursing home once a month and I am thinking about asking the teacher if I could tag a long.
I really enjoy the creative/artistic part of face painting and balloons. Are clowns allowed to face/hand paint in hospitals/nursing homes?
I guess that's it for now,
Carrie

Thanks
Thank-you everyone for your warm response, but I must admit that I am not a native Hoosier (what in the world is a Hoosier any ways? . I am orginally from SW Michigan, lived in Minnesota for seven years, and just moved to IN this summer.
