Just starting and searching for a great and colorful name
I need the help of some of you pros... I'm just starting with the clown ministry at my church. I have my costume, very colorful (as my personality is as well), but I need a name. Most of the clowns in our ministry used their initials (mine being D.A.), but they said I really didn't have to stick with that method if I could think of anything using "D" and "A"...
So in my search for the right name that will be as silly as the person I am... I found this site and thought I'd run this question by some of the professional and creative people in this field. So please help me with a name.
Here is the one I came up with: DA Skittles (pronouced: Duh Skittles, only because my outfit is full of round balloons and pockets and it made me think of the colorful candy I love to eat called: Skittles.
Thoughts anyone?
Thank you,
Donna

If it is a requirement that you use your initials then you could be anything if you use them this way: "Skittles da Clown"

Welcome Donna.
Some people use parts of their real names..
How about Dandy Donna? Or Donna Dandy?
Or since you have a thing for candy how about Dandy Candy? Or Candy Dandy? Just ideas...
One of the things that I find the most helpful to me as a clown is my clown notebook. Its just a simple spiral bound notebook full of website addresses, book titles, sketches of makeup plots, costume ideas, color fabric swatches etc... (trust me none of my sketches are professional quality), Ideas for walk around gags, jokes, etc...
I had a hard time picking a name too ( I am also very colorful aswell) Finally I made a list in my notebook of all of the reasons why I liked clowning ... one of the things that I wrote down in my notebook was 'Razzle and Dazzle and Glitz and Glamour of the circus'...
Razzle-Dazzle D. Clown just seemed to fit me
Welcome!

I like Skittles da Clown, BUT, I've heard you shouldn't use any copywritten names in your name...Skittles could be Skittulz or Skittlez or whatevah. Anyone else know anything about that?

"Skittles" was a word long before it was a candy. It's a game like bowling, and it's part of an expression for things going well, "It's all beer and skittles." I wouldn't worry at all about being sued over that.
Calling yourself "Mikey Mouse," on the other hand...
