Default Pebbles!

I've been community clowning for about 6 years...I do this mostly for my job..(free) Face painting and balloons..I made my own costume by hand..without a pattern..I enjoy it soo much and would love to make this my new career. I plan to attend clown college in Virginia this coming August and I am so excited. I have never had any training or anything so everything I do I have taught myself.

They call me Sparkles the Clown (mostly because I use lots of glitter) but there seems to be several of those in my area alone. My nick name has always been Pebbles so that’s the reason I have made that my forum name.. Name change in the making? Who knows…

Can't wait to get to know some of you guys!

Are you referring to Advanced Studies in August? B/c there is also the COAI in April...

Anyway, if you are referring to Advanced Studies - We are staying in a cabin... It actually works out cheaper to stay onsite rather than rent a hotel room at a local hotel! Plus you can do a payment plan with Leon. You only need to make $100 deposit and then when you hear back from Leon McBryde or Linda - you can arrange to make say $100 per month until you pay off your fees...

But it is well worth the price! I highly recommend staying onsite rather than a hotel b/c then you will be around for any after hours jam sessions that they have and can actually have more personal access to the instructors to ask them questions and get more tips and pointers from them!

I am brand new to clowning myself and can not emphasize enough the value of the personal instruction I was able to get from the instructors on the Clowning at Sea cruise... Many people who have been clowning for years have told me I am lucky to have been able to learn directly from pros like Jim Howle and Earl Chaney etc... Several have even told me how jealous they are of the private time I have with these clowns... So I would highly recommend putting yourself in the position to get as much extra time as possible - which in the case of Advanced Studies would mean staying in one of Leon's cabins on site...

Bump a nose!

If you go the the "register" link here at the Advanced Studies 2008 website... We are staying in "C.Cottage" for $565/ea. There is 3 of us in our group (myself, my mom & my sis-in-law) so we do not know who else they will put with us in our cottage since each cottage holds up to 6 guests...

Should be a blast! Let me know after you are registered and everything so we can make sure we can get to know each other better!

Bump a nose!
