A new clown emerging
Hi all,
Got my second gig tomorrow as a clown. Little girls birthday party. Very nerve wracking but exciting. I plan to play pin the nose on the clown, read a story, use some musical instruments to create a musical parade and do some tattooing. Parents know it is my first gig and are very supportive. Can't wait although I am a little stumped as to what face I should try. Don't want to scare the little darlins. Bye for now, Peppermint Kathie

According to my little experience - I am a clown for almost a year - kids who are 3 yo or younger ,get scared with a full face make up.
Maybe it's better to perform as a european ( elite ) auguste and to wear a fancy hat instead of a wig which can be scaring too. Never approach a child who is scared or ready to cry.Let it approach you whenever it wants. Good luck and happy clowning!

Rule of thumb is, nothing with sharp points (like pointy diamonds or triangles) because they tend to look more scarey. Light auguste would be nice! Try to stick to traditional colors...black white & red. Let us see a pic of what you settled on. Bump a nose! Jitterbug
