Default Hellooooo!

Just wanted to say hi everyone. Just starting up my own entertainment biz(Purple Powder Monkey Entertainment), and I have just graduated from mainly face painting to Clowning.

Having a great time learning to juggle and I am still working on my Character( but at least I have the face painting down.)

So far I have got a lot of useful information from everyone here so thanx to all in advance. I will put a pic up the moment I get my costume set up.

Welcome Crowbar! Is it really a good idea to entrust explosives to clowns though? Good thing we have a number of Fire and Safety Clowns around

Welcome to the Clown Forum. Purple Powder Monkey Entertainment is a very unique name for an entertainment biz. How did you come up with the name?

Default A little more about me

Thanx to all for the kind greetings. As I stated in my opening post my first passion was face painting. a clown friend introduced it to me because I paint small metal war game/historical miniatures for a hobby(come to think of it,I still do paint miniatures, just miniature people;-)

So when my face painting skills increased and my confidence grew I decided to go into business. I chose Purple Powder Monkey Entertainment because I couldn't think of any original & clever face painting company names. All of the good ones seemed to be taken. I finally just decided to just go with something fun and that seemed to roll of the tongue.

The name also allows me to expand into clowning and other entertainment(ballooning, magic, etc.) I already have a pirate character that is so colorful he borders on clown.

Just a side note on my name. Crowbar is really just my working name for now until I find my character. I think it might be a tad ......harsh sounding, but in a strange way I like it. I would love to hear any opinions,
Thanx

Hi Crowbar. That is great that you were able to take your skill in painting miniatures into business! The name Crowbar is unique but I imagine parents might be scared off by it if you are planning to do birthdays and such. But in a walk around or stage show you can explain your name a bit and I think it would work fine! Welcome to the forum!

Thanx Chance. I will definitely be creating a different name for children but I guess I can make a tough character clown with it though.

Looking at the costume that I am using I see my clown as a one who thinks of himself as an academic type, But being an auguste, he only thinks he knows everything.

Welcome Crowbar--I kind of like your name too;however I agree it may scare the kids--maybe something a little less frightening --like Gulliver--because of the little people you paint---this way he still represents tough like the giant in Gulliver Travels, but he also has a weakness--in your case--it's children. Just a thought

Welcome to the Forum Crowbar! Not many kids these days really know what a crowbar is. When I saw your name I thought of Ma and Pa Kettle and their two "native american" friends Giaduck and Crowbar.
