As far rules go, they vary depending on who you ask, but I think everyone would agree that these are pretty basic:

1. Have fun with the people you are clowning for.
2. Behave yourself in costume. Play with the kids, but be a good example, too.
3. Do what you can to be the best clown you can be.

As far as rules on the forum:

1. Ask any questions you want.
2. Talk to as many people as you can.
3. Join as many of the threads and conversations as you want.
4. Learn as much as you can.
5. Have FUN!

Join us in the Chat room on Thursday nights if your schedule allows for it, some people have been in there on Sunday nights also, or just stop in if you notice someone else in there, the door is never locked.

Rules? For a clown?

Yes, the first rule is must introduce yourself... where are you from? what kind of clown are you? what's your specialty or area of interest?

Rule # 2 - you must read ALL the old posts in their entirety to gain all the knowledge you possibly can and it must be done within 24 hours of joining the Forum

Rule # 3 - ignore Rule # 2 - well, not ALL of it. There is a great wealth of knowlegde hidden in those posts that can really come in handy. But you don't have to read them all within 24 hours of joining. Take your time & dig deep. There lots to learn!

Rule # 4 - Have Fun! Don't be afraid to ask questions. Everyone here is super friendly & very helpful! Whether it's make-up /costume tips or instructions on balloons or magic, there's bound to be someone around that can answer your question. We're all here to learn from each other.

Rule # 5 - the Most IMPORTANT Rule of all...
- Watch out for FLYING PIES!!!!!

Welcome to the Forum Ken, and welcome to the world of clowning. Tell us a little bit about yourself. We will be glad to help you on the road to clowndom. Being the new guy you get to make the coffee and bring the chips and dip to the clown chats on Thursday evenings.

If you are anywhere nead South Bend, Indiana we are having a get together this weekend. A couple of top notch lecturers and the room rates are about $65 a night. No registration charge this time but we will pass the hat to cover expenses.

Rule #1 for clowns

Put your big ol clown socks on your big ol' clown feet, before you put on your big ol' clown shoes.

This is not so much a rule but it sure saves on clown socks.
