Default Hello Fellow Clowns!

Hi Folks! I'm Scarlet!
I have read entries on this site many times and decided to finally join the group!
I have been clowning as a volunteer for several years, around our community and for our local Children's Hospital (I had a child there for 5 days and decided it was my way to give back) -- and have checked out your members' responses on many topics, some being ballon pumps and clown shoe manufacturers. (FYI - I haven't got a pump yet but I bought Clown-So-Port's mary jane style... FABULOUS shoes!) Keep up the good work -- and now I plan to throw in my two-cents every once in a while... surely great ideas are worth more than that by now! I know mine will be worth at least a dime!

Welcome Scarlet!!! We are always glad to have new faces in our "colorful" group.

Just wanted to share with you on the balloon pump ideas. You might want to check out the Filbert Pump Co. if you are looking for a floor model pump. I have one and I absolutely love it.

It is lightweight and can have custom colors and is reasonably priced. I have several friends with heavier larger pumps and when they saw mine, they really liked it!.

You can find them at: Filbert Productions - Home of the Filbert Balloon Pump
or: 1-518-465-4585.

Have fun and again, WELCOME!!!!

Thanks Duckie! Filberts is the way I'm leaning - first saw one in person a few months ago and loved how light it was. My problem (?) is, I am tall -- 5'10 -- and some of the pumps I've used cause me lower back strain. My group thinks I'm crazy to still use a hand pump - but I'd rather have a muscular arm than a sore back! Floor pumps sure make a more dramatic presentation, so I'm sure that will be my next major purchase. Look forward to 'talking' to you again!

Maybe you could get a lightweight crate that is sturdy enough to put a floor pump on top of so you don't have to bend over. You could also see if maybe one of the pump manufacturers would customize a pump for your height.

Welcome to the Clown Forum. It is always great when another clown converts from an anonymous reader to a registered participant. The discussions are much more fun when you can join in on the conversation.

Welcome to the Forum Scarlett. You might also go to MacPump

Andy is right about 6 foot, now Scruffy is probably closer to 5'9" or 5'8" and just recently bought one of Andy's new Mac Lites. It is about the same price as a Filbert. A few of my friends have Filberts and they all like them. I have not tried Andy's new lighter pump but I know Andy and with his skills and personallity if you called him up and told him what about your concerns he would give it to you straight. Scruffy will give us all his input when he sees this thread, and I look forward to hearing about the new pump.

I am very pleased with this pump It is 34" tall and tips the scale at 4.5 pounds. At full extension, the mac stands 55 inches tall. It will fill a 260 in one strokes and a 350 (That's 3' by 50" long) in four full strokes. It is very well made, very easy to use and a real relief to my old bum shoulder!
This pump also as a check valve in it to keep it from loosing air. This is nice because you can use multiple short strokes to inflate instead of one long stroke. a nice feature if you ever line twisted for two solid hours.

Also they have a two year warranty. For me, it's a short drive to have it fixed, as opposed to having to ship it somewhere far away.
