Default Helloooo Daahhhhlings! (insert British accent!)

Allow me to introduce myself.....(how many intros really start out that way??).
I am Rainbow D. Clown from Barnum Entertainment. I just moved up to the tri-state area of Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky just over a year ago. I lived in Central Texas in the lovely city of Killeen where Rainbow evolved. I bought an existing entertainment business that was "busy" doing about one party every 3 weeks. By the time I left, the company known as Special Occasions represented 8 entertainers, some of which I trained, and secured 29 reoccuring monthly events. I left because I was ending my non-supportive and abusive marraige and had no family there. I was proud of what I had built and learned everything on my own thru books and videos. God gave me talent and opportunity and the strength to move on. I moved up here where I grew up to be with family while doing so, I met and married the man of my dreams. I was a clown and his name was Barnum. Was there any question?? Besides that, his first name is Rich! How could I pass up a Rich Barnum??!! Anyway, I've spent the last year getting settled in to an area that doesn't quite support the amount of events I'm used to, and I was actually looking to possibly just turning to clowning as a hobby. Although I've done many events here, I wasn't sure if it would be a way of life for me. But I've been happy enjoying what a marraige should be and I was content with that. But now, my husband, (a retired First Sargent in the US Army), has a new job in Henderson, Kentucky and we are looking to move there within the next few months when school is out. I look forward to meeting and networking with other clowns which is something I've had (or was allowed) little opportunity to do in the past. I'm a huge networker! I love to make a sale and would gladly help anyone. I'm very proficient in face painting and balloon twisting. I tend to be stationary or work table to table for restaurants. I have wrote a few gospel skits in the past working with primarily children, no other professional clowns. I would like to pick up my desire to work in the ministry again. If anyone wants to jam, let me know. One thing I definitely want to put out there...(in my past experience of the few professional clowns I have spoke with)....I don't want to be anyone's competition. I would love to help you, and may need to call on someone to help me at times. I am business oriented and would love to grow my business again, but, I believe God gave us all these gifts, and if someone is blessed by a job, then I am happy His plan is working. I'm not here to hinder it. In fact, let me be a blessing to you! Well, I guess that covers my introduction. Oh.....no I'm not British, and yes, he is related. I'll share the story if you wish!

Keep having fun, Baby!

Good to meet you. I know how hard it is going from a busy clown life to a smaller area and trying to set up shop. Too bad we are not in the same town. But at least we are in the same forum.

Welcome to the forum, Rainbow, Glad to have you with us!

And, yes, even though no one else has said it, we would like to hear any Barnum stories you have. If there's one thing we all love here, it's a good story about a famous circus personality, and their relatives.

My Dad teaches with Pricilla Mooseburger every summer. One year we did a Moosecamp on the Road in Lenox Massachussettes (sp?). The themed night we had was side show night, with special guest star Todd Robbins from Coney Island. We all had to go as a side show attraction. I went as P. T. Barnum's Greatest Hoax - The Fiji Mermaid.
